Runner-up finish in Wild West Shootout at Central Arizona Raceway

NASCAR legend Ken Schrader opened his 2026 season this past weekend as the Rio Grande Waste Services Wild West Shootout returned to its Arizona roots at Central Arizona Raceway, just 10 days into the new year.

Schrader came up short of transferring into Saturday’s Limited Modified feature after an exit in the B-Main, but he rebounded in a big way on Sunday. He followed a strong sixth-to-second run in his heat race with a runner-up finish in the 20-lap feature, sharing the podium with race winner Blake Adams and third-place finisher Jake Smith.
