Schrader Finishes Sixth in Turkey Bowl XIX at Springfield Raceway

Ken Schrader returned to Missouri’s Springfield Raceway over the weekend as the quarter-mile oval hosted the Turkey Bowl XIX.

Pulling double duty in both the Modified and B-Mod divisions, Schrader locked himself into Saturday’s Modified feature with a pair of impressive heat-race performances on Friday. He advanced from seventh to third in his first round before charging from fourth to second in his second heat, earning enough points to secure a spot in the main event. In B-Mod competition, a runner-up heat finish left him just short of a direct transfer, sending him to a Saturday B-Main.

On Saturday, Schrader raced his way through the B-Mod B-Main and went on to climb four positions in the feature to finish 12th. In the night’s headlining $6,023-to-win Modified A-Main, the veteran driver capped the weekend with a strong sixth-place finish in the 30-lap affair.
