Schrader Third in SRX Finale; Enjoys Busy Weekend of Racing
Ken Schrader kicked off a busy weekend of racing on Thursday evening at Lucas Oil Speedway (Wheatland, Mo.) with the final Camping World SRX race of the 2023 season. In double heat races, Ken finished second and 11th.
In the main event he ran in the Top 5 throughout the 50-lap finale before crossing the finish line in third behind Jonathan Davenport and Brad Keselowski with Ryan Newman and Clint Bowyer completing the Top 5.
Schrader finished fifth in the final 2023 Camping World SRX point standings.
On Friday evening Schrader rolled into Tri-City Speedway (Pontoon Beach, Ill.) where 38 Pure Cool Hart Limited Modified Series entries took part in the event. He started 14th in the feature and raced to a fourth-place finish behind Trey Harris, Treb Jacoby, and Logan Dockery.
Action shifted to the Illinois State Fairgrounds (Springfield, Ill.) on Saturday, where Ken embarked on the Sportsman division as well as ARCA Menards Series competition. Thirteen DIRTcar Sportsman entries were on hand, and Schrader's weekend started on a promising note with a heat race win. Unfortunately, luck wouldn't be on his side as he slipped to a 12th-place finish.
In ARCA Menard's Series action, Ken started 10th and finished sixth in the Dutch Boy 100.
