Schrader Clashes at the Creek; Second at Silver Bullet
After seeing the event delayed a day by weather, Ken Schrader entered the Clash at the Creek XV opener at 141 Speedway (Maribel, Wisc.) on Wednesday evening.
Sixty-three drivers entered the program and with double heats on tap Ken raced from ninth-to-sixth in his first heat race before winning his second heat race.
Ken started his outing on Thursday night by finishing second in his heat race to lock into the 16th-starting spot for the $10,000-to-win finale. The veteran was unable to make up any ground in the 50-lap feature and ultimately crossed the finish line in 16th.
The team visited Wisconsin's Outagamie Speedway on Friday evening. A seventh-place finish in his heat race relegated Schrader to the B-Main, where he advanced to the fourth position to earn the 19th-starting spot for the finale. In the main event he passed seven competitors to finish 12th.
Weekend action continued on Saturday night at Silver Bullet Speedway (Owendale, Mich.), where Ken raced to a third-place finish in his heat race, which positioned him eighth on the feature grid. Passing six drivers in the feature, Schrader finished second behind Charlie Mihacsi with Loren Short, Jacob Flickinger, and Jake Thompson completing the Top-5 finishers.
