WHAT ARE YOU DOING WITH YOUR WEEK OFF?

 

 

The NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series has one of three “off weekends” on the 2006 season schedule this week.  But, Ken Schrader, driver of the #21 Wood Brothers Racing Ford Fusion, has filled the time with appearances and racing.  He outlines what his week will entail below.

 

WHAT ARE YOU DOING WITH YOUR WEEK OFF?  “We are going to Texas Motor Speedway and run the dirt car Friday and Saturday in the Pro Cuts dirt race.  I’m pretty excited about it because it will be the first race we are running the dirt car under the Red Baron Pizza colors.  Pro Cuts is also helping sponsor it for out there so we’re looking forward to it. 

 

“We are going to Toledo Tuesday to do a press thing for Ron Drager and ARCA.  We’re going to run a race up there in April. 

“And then Wednesday we’re going to Cleveland for the Auto Show for Ford, and on Thursday we have a press conference in Paducah, Kentucky – Dale (Earnhardt) Junior and myself - to announce the schedule and everything we are doing at our race track there.  That’s going to be huge.  We just bought it over the winter.  It is a quarter-mile dirt track right outside of Paducah, Kentucky – Paducah International Raceway.  It is a real nice little place.”

 

NOT MUCH TIME AT HOME THIS WEEK?  “Not a lot.  But, it’s no different than other week.  A lot of stuff to do.”
