April 25, 2016 - Matt Kurzejewski Looking to Build on Success Talladega
Matt Kurzejewski looking to build on previous success at Talladega
Concord, North Carolina (April 27, 2016)

Matt Kurzejewski
No. 52 Ansell-Menards Chevrolet
Talladega Superspeedway (Alabama) – General Tire 200 – April 29, 2016

Looking To Build on Previous Talladega Experiences:  In three previous starts at Talladega, 24-year-old Matt Kurzejewski has two top ten finishes.  Kurzejewski recorded his career best finish on the super speedway in 2015 in which he finished sixth.

This Week’s Chevrolet:  The No.52 Ansell-Menards team will unload chassis No.366 this Friday at Talladega Superspeedway.  This chassis sat on the Menards Pole during 2016 Speedweeks at Daytona International Speedway with Cole Custer behind the wheel.

This Week’s Schedule: On-track action will begin with practice on April 29 from 8:30 a.m. - 10:20 a.m.  Menards Pole Qualifying Presented by Ansell will take place at 2:30 p.m.  The General Tire 200 starts at 5 p.m. on Friday, April 29. <<MORE>>

April 25, 2016 - Matt Kurzejewski Brings Home Top Ten in Salem Debut
1 Concord, North Carolina (April 25, 2016)  -- Contact with the turn four wall late in the Kentuckiana Ford Dealers 200 while battling inside the top-5, resulted in a ninth place finish for Matt Kurzejewski and the No. 52 Ansell-Menards Toyota.

Kurzejewski, who made his debut on the high banks of Salem Speedway during the 99th running of the ARCA Racing Series event at the famed track, was 10th fastest during Saturday’s practice sessions.

“Salem takes a lot of patience while on the edge of your seat each lap,” said Kurzejewski following Saturday’s practices.  The 24-year-old qualified 15th for the race during Menards Pole Qualifying Presented by Ansell.

“I’ve never had to drive a racecar like I had to drive this Ansell-Menards Toyota during qualifying,” Kurzejewski continued. “You literally hold your breath and are completely out of control for two solid laps.”

When the green flag fell for the Kentuckiana Ford Dealers 200, Kurzejewski would quickly get in a rhythm and work his way up to the ninth position by lap 60.

“Once I got the hang of the track, I felt the car was really good.  Donnie (Richeson) and the Ken Schrader Racing guys worked hard and found what we needed to be fast here.  We could get off turn two better than anyone else and that was a tremendous help when passing cars.” <<MORE>>

March 28, 2016 - Jimmy Fallon: Profile
1TOLEDO, Ohio (March 28, 2016) – He’s not a late night talk show host, but we’re betting he could be…that is if he wasn’t a key component on Ken Schrader Racing's Ansell-Menards Toyota team. At 54 years young, the other Jimmy Fallon still loves what he does, still goes over the wall on raceday, and if need be, can belt out the National Anthem with the best of ‘em, and better than most. He can play a mean guitar too. But it’s the racing gig, through all its twists and turns, that keeps it all together.

“I love it more than ever,” said Fallon. “Out of everyone I’ve worked for, this is the best place I’ve ever worked. They (Schrader Racing) are such good people. I’m proud to be here. To be able to come back to Schrader Racing and not burn any bridges is pretty cool…to still do what you love.”

Fallon’s journey through motorsports has indeed taken a lot twists and turns, but you might expect that from a kid who six days out of high school packed his bags and signed up with the United States Navy. But before he signed on the military dotted line, he developed a passion for music and racing growing up as a boy in Avon, New York, just south of Rochester. <<MORE>>

March 22, 2016 - Donnie Richeson Readies KSR for Busy Week
1 TOLEDO, Ohio (March 22, 2016) – After the relatively long pause between Daytona and Nashville, it’s finally time for Ken Schrader Racing’s (KSR) ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards team to hit the road.

“We all wish we were at the race track,” said longtime KSR crew chief Donnie Richeson. “We’ve been at the shop way too long…this is getting old. We gotta get out of here and go.”

In fact, the team has just rolled two fresh Composite Body cars up into the trailer for two days of testing Tuesday and Wednesday. Ironically, they are not heading to Fairgrounds Speedway Nashville first, but on the way back.

“We’re loading two in the trailer as we speak. Salem tomorrow (Tuesday) and Nashville Wednesday. If we’re going to go up the road that far, we might as well do both. It also depended on Schrader’s schedule. He’s able to be at Salem tomorrow.” <<MORE>>

February 15, 2016 - Matt Kurzejewski Battles Highs and Lows
1 (Daytona Beach, FL - Feb 15th, 2016) - Matt Kurzejewski, who came into the weekend, as a favorite to win the Lucas Oil 200 Driven by General Tire at Daytona International Speedway was ready to tackle the season opening race in his Ken Schrader Racing prepared Ansell Protects - Menards Toyota.

With veteran crew chief Donnie Richeson calling the shots on the No.52 machine, Kurzejewski was quick in both practice sessions and felt this car was the best car he has had for his fourth race at the prestigious Daytona International Speedway.

“We showed speed all weekend and this team gave me the best opportunity I’ve had to win at Daytona.”  stated Kurzejewski.

Kurzejewski, who came into the weekend with a best start of fifteenth, qualified seventh on Friday afternoon for the Lucas Oil 200 Driven by General Tire. <<MORE>>

January 21, 2016 - Matt Kurzejewski Hits the Ground Running with KSR
1(TOLEDO, Ohio – January 21, 2016) – Defending General Tire Superspeedway Challenge champion Matt Kurzejewski got reacquainted with Daytona Int’l Speedway during the recent ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards open test last Saturday. The Mansfield, Pennsylvania driver also had the opportunity to get to know his new Ken Schrader Racing teammates.

“The whole team is just phenomenal,” Kurzejewski said. “Ken Schrader Racing has assembled an amazing group of people. Donnie Richeson (crew chief) and I just clicked immediately…it was right off the bat. The amount of confidence I had around me was unexplainable.”

Kurzejewski, who recently announced a full season in Schrader’s No. 52 Ansell-Menards Toyota, spent about four hours on and off the track last Saturday, got what they needed, and headed for the hills. He ended up 34th overall on the speed charts among 64 drivers. <<MORE>>

Concord, N.C. (October 21, 2015) -- Ken Schrader Racing, Inc., the Harrisburg Cruisers Car Club and the Bank of North Carolina are hosting the 3rd Annual Dennis Peskir Memorial Car Show on Saturday, October 24, 2015 at Schrader’s race shop located at 4403 Stough Road in Concord, North Carolina. Proceeds from the show will benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
The show is open to the public and begins at 8 a.m.

This year’s show features two-time ARCA champion (1987 and 1991) and team owner Bill Venturini, who will serve as a celebrity judge for Saturday’s show. Dedicating his life to motorsports, Venturini holds personal qualifying records at Daytona International Speedway and Talladega Superspeedway. Since 2007, along with his son Billy, Venturini has helped many a young racer develop skills and transition from the ARCA Series to the ranks of NASCAR. He has also been a TV commentator. A Q&A session with Venturini will be a highlight of the event.

"What a pleasant surprise being asked to be a judge and speaker for the Harrisburg Cruisers Car Show at Ken Schrader's race shop,” Bill Venturini said. “Knowing Kenny & Ann for over 38 years, seeing his big car collection, and being a small car collector myself, it's nice to share the passion of cars with others. Especially when we're not having to worry if our cars are going to win or get wrecked on the race track!"

Federated Auto Parts, Schrader’s longtime sponsor and several associate sponsors for his team, are providing products for all entrant’s goody bags and door prizes. Martinsville Speedway has contributed race tickets for its October NASCAR weekend. Local merchants, including Mack’s Auto Repair, Aldi, Ray Helms Auto Body, Idle Time Designs, Food Lion, and Morrison Motors have donated product and services for the show.

The Concord Fire Department will have an engine on display and will be performing safety demonstrations. The Schrader family is a long-time supporter of the fire department.
.
“The Harrisburg Cruisers organization was founded in 2009, when a few car lovers from Harrisburg started talking and decided to form a club. We wanted to preserve the American muscle car while helping our community,” said Harrisburg Cruisers president Stan Cavaness. “Since its inception, the club has raised and contributed thousands of dollars to many local charities. Our members are dedicated to the club’s mission and, with the support of local businesses, we believe we have made a positive impact in our community through car shows, our monthly cruise-ins and other fundraisers. Our annual show at Ken Schrader Racing is a fall highlight and we hope to continue the momentum into 2016.”

The Schrader shop will be open for tours and crew members will be on hand to answer questions. At 9 a.m. there will be a demonstration for the DIY car enthusiast by Greg Purkey, owner of Purkey Motorsports. Purkey-built cars have been visiting Victory Lane for more than a decade.

Registration deadline for the show is 10:30 a.m. on the day of the show and the awards ceremony, sponsored by Hughes Automotive and Streetside Classics will start at 12:30 p.m. Trophies for “Best of Show” and “Charity’s Choice” among others will be presented.

September 28, 2015 - Ross Kenseth Finishes Fourth at Kentucky
Ross Kenseth finished fourth in the No. 52 Federated Auto Parts/Boyne Machine Chevrolet at Kentucky Speedway in Saturday's Crosley Brands 150 ARCA Racing Series event.

Kenseth qualified sixth on Friday, but rain delayed the start of the event 17 hours, to a 1:19 p.m. green flag on Saturday.

Rain again plagued the event, causing an extended caution flag only 10 laps shy of halfway. Most teams elected to stay out during the caution, afraid that rain would set in and prematurely end the event at the halfway point. Kenseth, running fifth at the time was among those who elected to stay out, but when it became apparent the race would resume, those leaders who stayed out came to pit road for gas and tires at the end of the 18-lap caution period.

Restarting 12th, Kenseth wasted no time making up for lost track position, aggressively racing his way back up the seventh in the matter of one-and-a-half laps. After a lap 69 caution, Kenseth and the No. 52 team elected to stay out and restarted sixth.

Over the course of the final 25 lap run to the checkers, Kenseth was able to make up two positions while fighting a tight-handling race car, which was only made worse by traffic.

The fourth-place finish was Kenseth's third straight top five in ARCA--a series, where he's yet to finish worse than six in four career starts.

"It was a good day overall," said Kenseth. "We just missed it a little on short runs and we were too tight in traffic. Hats off to these guys who worked really hard on it all week. Restarts were good in the outside lane, but we just got real tight on the bottom. Huge thanks to Boyne and Federated for giving me the chance to come back and work with these guys at Schrader Racing. It's always a lot of fun."

September 22, 2015 - Ross Kenseth & Ken Schrader Racing Team Up Again
MOORESVILLE, N.C. (September 22, 2015) – Ross Kenseth climbs back into the No. 52 Federated Auto Parts car this week at Kentucky Speedway for his second ARCA Racing Series start of 2015.

Friday’s Crosley Brands 150 marks Kenseth’s first ARCA start since winning the June race at Michigan International Speedway earlier this season, and only the fourth series start of his young career. Kenseth will team with Ken Schrader Racing for the third time in the ARCA Racing Series and once again with sponsorship support from Boyne Machine Company of Jenison, Mich.

“Schrader Racing is a great team and we had a lot of fun at Michigan together,” said Kenseth. “I’ve tested before at Kentucky so hopefully that can help give us a jumpstart this week. I’m excited to get back to a mile-and-a-half speedway. It’ll be cool having Boyne and Federated back on the car as we’ve enjoyed some success with them this year. Hopefully we can continue that and have a good run at Kentucky.” <<MORE>>

September 19, 2015 - Ken Schrader Schools Field at Terre Haute Action Track

(Terre Haute, IN - 09-19-15)The UMP Modifieds were back at it in Terre Haute, for the season finale at The Action Track.  In total, a solid field of 21 competitors were pitside in conjunction with the Jim Hurtubise/Tony Hulman Classic for the USAC Amsoil National Sprint Cars.

In preliminary action, Robinson, IL driver and Modified hotshoe, Brian Shaw, raced to the victory in heat #1 to earn him the pole position for the feature event.  In heat #2, it was Fenton, MO veteran and former NASCAR campaigner, Ken Schrader claiming the checkered.

When the green dropped on the feature event, it was Schrader racing out front with Shaw following.  At DuQuoin a couple of weeks ago, it was role reversal, where Shaw had the dominant car and led most of the way.  Even a one spot penalty didn't keep him from the top prize.

At Terre Haute, however, Schrader was hooked up.  As lap-after-lap clicked off, Schrader was stretching his lead, while racing throughout the pack was dicey.  There were several battles going on from 3rd on back, but for the most part the race was very clean and a great show for the fans.

Schrader's only scare came after a late-race yellow bunched the field.  Once back to green, Shaw drove to the inside and looked like he was going to pull off the pass for the win.  However, Schrader stepped it up a notch and scooted back out front.

At the checkered, it was the Federated Auto Parts #9 of Ken Schrader claiming his first Terre Haute win of the season.  Schrader was followed by Shaw, Tyler Nicely, Richie Lex, and David Shain.  Curt Rhodes, Danny Schwartz, Dave Baldwin, Collen Goodman, and Roger Mills completed the top ten.

September 7, 2015 - Schrader Finishes 2nd at DuQuoin

DuQuoin, IL (September 9, 2015) By Jay Hardin Track Enterprises Staff

Brian Shaw of Robinson, Illinois nearly gave up a sure win in the UMP Modified Bill Oldani Memorial when he received a penalty for jumping the start Monday, however Shaw took the penalty on the first caution flag of the 20-mile feature event and re-passed leader Ken Schrader to take a record fifth win in the Oldani Memorial.  Fenton, Missouri ace Ken Schrader was in search of a fourth consecutive victory in the Oldani but had to hold off David Shain of Humboldt, Illinois for second.  Shain finished third with two-time race winner Jeff Parks of Marion fourth and Mike Galloway of Scheller fifth.  Parks had the greatest advance of any driver on the day, coming from 18th to the 4th slot.

Shaw initially got the lead at the start but a yellow came out and the race was started once again.  On the restart Shaw apparently hit the accelerator too quick and thus was issued a penalty of one spot to be served at the end of the race.  However, he chose to give up the position under the first caution on lap 13 for the stalled car of Danny Ems of Barnhart, Missouri.  Schrader led the next circuit before Shaw sailed by and was never challenged again.  The caution for Ems was the only one during the feature event.

Schrader, Shaw and Shain were heat race winners in the 5 mile events held Sunday night with Shaw setting a new track record for 5 miles of 2:47.93 (107.188) in the second heat.  Schrader set a new one lap track record of 32.362 (111.242) in group qualifying Sunday night.  Complete results will be available at www.trackenterprises.com.

March 12, 2015 - Federated Auto Parts and Ken Schrader Announce '15 Schedule
Concord, N.C. (March 12, 2015) – Federated Auto Parts and Ken Schrader Racing have teamed up for 2015.  This season marks the 16th year that Federated Auto Parts has served as the primary sponsor for Schrader’s dirt and ARCA cars.  Schrader will continue to compete in both his dirt modified and in select ARCA races throughout the season.

“We are looking forward to another exciting season as the sponsor of Kenny and his racing teams,” said J.R. Bishop, director of motorsports and event marketing for Federated. “Kenny has become synonymous with Federated. He is very popular with our members and their customers, and he does a tremendous job representing Federated across the country, whether at the Federated 400, an ARCA race or a local dirt track event.”

Schrader will handle driving duties for his team in seven ARCA races, including two title-sponsorship races at the Salem (Ind.) Speedway, the Federated Auto Parts ARCA 200 on April 26 and the Federated Car Care ARCA Fall Classic on Sept. 19. He will also drive at Toledo Speedway, Winchester Speedway, Lucas Oil Raceway, Illinois State Fairgrounds and DuQuoin State Fairgrounds.

In addition, the team’s drivers will include Matt Tifft, Clay Campbell, and Ross Kenseth. Tifft, an Ohio native who attends the University of North Carolina At Charlotte, will be making his return to KSR, Inc. at the March 14 ARCA race at Mobile (Ala.) International Speedway. Tifft will also drive the Federated entry in ARCA competition at the Fairgrounds Speedway Nashville, New Jersey Motorsports Park, Pocono Raceway, Iowa Speedway, Berlin Raceway, Kentucky Speedway, and Kansas Speedway.

“We are pleased with Matt’s return to the Federated car,” said team owner Ken Schrader.  “He is a talented young driver and has proven race after race that he has what it takes to run up front and make key decisions while behind the wheel.”

1“I am excited to be back in the Federated car this season,” Tifft said.  “Last year, I learned a great deal about the tracks we visited and I’m looking forward to returning to those places with the Schrader team to capitalize on that knowledge. We had a number of great finishes in 2014 and I hope to better those this year!”

Martinsville Speedway President Clay Campbell is scheduled to race with Ken Schrader Racing, Inc. in the #52 Federated Chevy at Talladega Superspeedway on May 1.  Campbell is making his second appearance at Talladega for the Federated team.

“I’m really looking forward to going to Talladega. We had a really strong car there last year but weren’t around at the end to show it,” Campbell said.  “Obviously we are excited to be going with the same car we had a Daytona which was really fast but again, we had issues that kept us from being there at the end. I can think of nothing better than for our Federated Auto Parts Team to go to victory lane at Talladega!”

Ross Kenseth will drive at Michigan International Speedway and Chicagoland Speedway for the team.  In 2013, Kenseth made his ARCA debut in a Ken Schrader Racing car at Madison (Wis.) International Speedway, winning the pole and leading 51 laps before finishing sixth.

“With the drivers we have on board for this season, it looks as though we will have some exciting finishes and experience some great racing within the ARCA ranks,” Schrader said. “I’m looking forward to working with Matt, Clay, and Ross.”

Federated will also sponsor Schrader in more than 50 dirt track races in the coming season and will host hospitality events for its members and customers at several of these races.
“Our dirt track sponsorship of Schrader Racing continues to grow each year,” said Bishop. “Kenny has a great time interacting with our members and customers at the track and his enthusiasm is contagious. Our guests really enjoy spending time with him and cheering him on as he competes in the Federated car.”

January 27, 2015 - Ken Schrader to Tackle the Dirt with a New Approach
Concord, N.C. (January 27, 2015) On the heels of a very successful 2014 campaign on dirt tracks across the United States in his Federated Auto Parts #9 Modified, Ken Schrader is preparing for an even bigger season in 2015. With determination to far exceed the accomplishments he attained a year ago, Schrader has also made some changes within his program to streamline the team’s efficiency.

“Last year we raced with four different sanctions, and it seemed like my team was constantly having to change our cars to meet the various specs,” said Schrader. “It’s really hard on my guys to be focusing on changing specs on the car, when they need to be using that time during the week to prepare the car and its components for the actual race. Plain and simple it just became aggravating to us all.”

As a result for 2015 Ken made the decision to expand his arsenal with more chassis options. In addition to his new Impressive Chassis he has also purchased a new GRT by Phillips and a Victory by Moyer Chassis.

“Impressive Chassis has just been incredible to me over the years, and I look forward to continuing my great relationship with them,” notes Schrader. “Now with adding the GRT by Phillips and Victory by Moyer Chassis to the fold, our team will have much more flexibility, when it comes to competing with the different sanctions.”

The team plans to utilize the Impressive Chassis and GRT by Phillips Chassis in USRA, UMP, and USCS competition, while putting the Victory by Moyer Chassis into IMCA competition.

Schrader concludes by saying, “I couldn’t be more excited about the potential that this season holds with all of these new racecars. Furthermore it will be awesome to be able to continue to work with the excellent folks at Impressive Chassis, and it will be a true honor to get to work hand-in-hand with racing legends like Joe Garrison, Terry Phillips, and Billy Moyer.”

Schrader Racing will lift the lid on their 2015 Dirt Modified campaign with nine nights of UMP Modified racing, spanning eleven days at two different tracks, February 7th-17th.  Action will include a pair of events at North Florida Speedway (Lake City, Florida) on February 7th-8th before traveling to Volusia Speedway Park (Barberville, Florida) on February 10th-17th.
